Our History
Venture Bank Direct is the newest offering in the family of business and personal banking services provided by Venture Bank. As such, it shares in a rich history of success for both customers and the company.
In 1979 a group of local business owners got together and opened Lacey Bank in Lacey, Washington. Within a couple of years, it was decided that our name should better reflect the areas we wanted to serve.
In 1981, our bank's name was changed to First Community Bank. We opened our second branch in 1983 and also formed our holding company, First Community Financial Group, to help expand services to our customers. In 1987 we added mortgage lending services to our product offerings and in 1996 added an investment services division.
The 20 years between 1983 and 2003 saw steady, well-managed growth by staying focused on our customers' needs. A succession of new branch openings and acquisitions of smaller local banks increased our reach to 18 strategically located branches and one stand-alone mortgage office in four western Washington counties.
2003 marked a milestone in our history as we began examining ways to improve a number of elements within our organization. We determined that although the First Community Bank name served us well, a new name could reflect both who we were and who we want to be in the years ahead. In May, 2003, we changed our name to Venture Bank - a name that symbolizes our decades of commitment to the businesses and families of Washington as well as our vision for the important role we can play in our communities in the years to come.
Today, Venture Bank has 18 financial centers in four western Washington counties and approximately $1.2 billion in assets.
As we continue to implement new ways to serve our customers, we have expanded yet again to offer online electronic banking accounts through Venture Bank Direct. With Venture Bank Direct, customers have access to financial services in ways that our founders never would have imagined.
Venture Bank Direct offers a whole new way of banking that is In Your Best Interest.
